Daniel Wallace, author and “specialist” on Star Wars, Superman, and other super heroes will be at the Hernando Public Library on May 5th at 6:30pm. Take a photo with superheroes, 501st, and other costuming groups while you are there!!! Feel free to wear your favorite superhero out and enjoy the day at the Hernando Public Library’s Book Signing event.

Free Comic Book Day – May 7, 2011

The Rancor Raiders have been invited to attend FREE COMIC BOOK day at two comic book stores this year. The first is Heroes and Dreams in Flowood and the second is Comics and Stuff in Hattiesburg. Heroes and Dreams will kick off at 10AM and go on well into the afternoon til around 4PM. The Comics and Stuff comic store will be looking to start up at 1PM and ending between 3:00PM and 4:00PM. We invite EVERYONE out to catch a glimpse of yours truely and some of the GREAT deals you can catch on this fantastic day for your comic book dreams!!!

Spring Festival @ Columbus AFB – April 16, 2011

Everyone’s invited to join us as we visit the youth at Columbus AFB on April 16.

Registration for the egg hunt starts at 9 a.m. – with many of the festivities starting at 9:30.

We intend to offer Droid eggs with various Star Wars related prizes for the children. Everything will be going on until 11:30, but may go beyond that depending on the amount of people that show up and hang out. There’s also a flea market that day at the same location.

The Mississippi Rancor Raiders, plus multiple 501st Garrisons in the midsouth area will be attending the 29th annual MidSouthCon!!!!! It will be held March 25-27, 2011 at Memphis Hilton Hotel & Resorts in Memphis, TN. Detailed information can be obtained from the conventions home webste located at http://www.midsouthcon.org/. Hal & Mal’s St. Paddy’s Day Parade – March 19, 2011

The Rancor Raiders have been invited to participate in this years St. Paddy’s Day Parade sponsored be Hal & Mal’s of Jackson. We will be trooping with the Clean Sweep crew from the Blair E. Madison Christmas Parade – Dec. 4, 2010

What a great parade it turned out to be!!! We marched in the parade and in partnership with Make-A-Wish of Mississippi. We represented them by carrying a banner and wearing blue stars that read “Show the Power of a Wish”. It was about a 2-mile, 4-hour long parade for us. There was a decent crowd along the route and plenty of children to shake hands with. We wish we could have taken more pictures with more people, however the parade moved quickly and we had to keep up. It was a bit chilled, but not too bad honestly. The Force Unleashed 2 Release @ Game Stop – Oct. 25, 2010

The Force Unleashed 2 Release night! The Rancor Raiders were there promoting for nothing else but STAR WARS!! This was a split troop for us in one night, we had three separate groups. One in Columbus, another in Southaven, and the other in Flowood. We did not have more than a couple troopers at each location, but our presence was well known.

Richland Elementary Book Fair – Oct. 6, 2010

The Rancor Raider’s were requested out to a book reading event at Richland Elementary School.

“I had a good time with the kids at the Richland Upper Elementary School. Principle Price had me go around to all the classrooms and meet the kids after lunch. Then from 4-6 there was a book fair that had around 75 kids with their parents come through. We talked about doing one in the Spring on a Saturday in the future.”
