Another late album posting from Facebook for Star Wars Fan Days.
Star Wars in concert was a blast down in New Orleans:
Find it on Facebook too!
Here’s an after action report from Boo at the Zoo from our own Streethowitzer (Chris):
Boo at the Zoo 2009 was a great event. The attendees loved seeing us there and getting our pictures. I even saw a video of our own BigDaddyClone breaking loose some dance moves for one fan. I am pretty sure he is trying out for “So You Think You Can Dance” next year
I am sure this will be on youtube at least. No one told him that you can’t move well in armor.
The Zoo staff was very appreciative of us and we really felt that we made a difference for the zoo. We had our 3 newest troopers there as well. Justin, Shocktritian and Bigdaddyclone, you were all instrumental in making this event a success. Shocktritian even got promoted, he went from crewman to Vader in around 2 hours of his first troop.
The attendence was down a little due to the weather the night before and them extending the Saturday hours but as I left, the parking lot was full. The main event there that night was the Costume Parade. We supported that and were a hit. I am looking forward to next year.
Attending was Wes, Phil, Justin, Burell, Allen, Stephen, Mike, and Myself
And another report from Chris on the Star Wars in Concert event in New Orleans.
This was an awesome event. It was my 2nd LFL (Lucas Films Ltd.) event. Phil (Sentinel) and I attended this with the Bast Alpha Garrison.
We had to submit pics for LFL to approve for this event. They only allowed 20 501st and 10 Rebel Legion for this event.
Original movie props and costumes were on display around the arena. It is neat seeing how crude some of the movie props were. This is covered up by the film. Some of the original screen used props were: Chewie, Vader, Kit Fisto, Plo Koon, Biker Scout Helmet, Naval Trooper Helmet, B-Wing Helmet, E-11, Endor Rebel Blaster, C-3PO, Episode III Officer (this was especially cool), Senator Palpatines robe, and some of the musical score hand written by John Williams.
The night was performed by a 40 piece symphony and 40 piece choir. The music was awesome, it was amped up with THX surround. Anthony Daniels narrated the night. He went thru the whole story starting with episode1. He talked about and gave background on all of the main characters. We then got to see clips from the movie with the symphony playing. It was a great time.
Everytime the arena went black, you saw FX sabers and Lightsaber keychains light up everywhere. I am glad to have been able to troop this event. We were around the arena until the the show started and then we got to attend the event with excellent seats. The music, screen, pyro, lights, and lasers really made this a great event. All should attend if given the chance. It felt like a Star Wars Rock Concert. It was also good to see the Bast Alpha guys. Those guys are nuts and always have a party with them. Talked alot with Gary and Rodney and they were very glad we were able to attend and help them out. Looking forward to Mardi Gras.
I am sure this will be on youtube at least. No one told him that you can’t move well in armor.
